Having grown up in Montana, my skin was always dry. I was constantly putting on lotion, not understanding why I felt I needed more after just 10 minutes. I never really thought about it again until my mom and I made a disastrous attempt at making lotion bars. It was then that I realized that I had been buying lotions that were basically bottles of water with very little oils in them, and that's why I was always putting more and more on.

Initially, I made steps to switch to natural brands, but it was so expensive! So I attempted to make another batch of lotion bars that didn't turn out much better than the last time. After that, I became determined to create the perfect body butter. It took years of trial and error, and by that time, the desire to no longer commute or do office work grew.

My partner, Cole, and I quit our jobs to start the process of creating our business and moving to Oregon. In August of 2017, we officially started Foggy Mountain Skin Care. We strive to have no "foggy" ingredients and we utilize local goods such as honey and lavender. Working out of our kitchen, the two of us bring homemade skincare to the Umpqua Valley Farmers' Market every Saturday. If you can't make it down to the market, don't worry! You can still get homemade skin care delivered right to your door!
